
4 dead, 56 injured in road crash along Londiani-Muhoroni road

Four people died on the spot and 56 were seriously injured after a road accident along the Londiani-Muhoroni road.
The accident that occurred on Monday, 9.30 pm involved a passenger bus headed to Nairobi and a truck headed towards Muhoroni.
“The bus veered off the road on the left side as one faces the Londiani direction, into a sugarcane farm,” a police report states.

One male passenger and three females died on the spot as 56 others sustained injuries and were rushed to St. Vincent Mission Hospital, Koru Mission Hospital, Muhoroni Subcounty Hospital.

Four others were transferred to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) Kisumu for specialized treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were taken to St. Vincent de Paul Hospital Mortuary for preservation pending identification by next of kin and autopsy.
